You will meet this idea in ordinary days. Ten fingers make counting by tens natural. God shaped both the world and the hands that measure it. This is worth learning because God’s world runs on order, and ten is one of its clearest patterns.
Watch for it today, and when you spot it, tell someone what you noticed and how you knew. Ask yourself where else the same idea might be hiding, then go and look. Watch this carefully, friend. Ten shows up often in Scripture. God gave ten commandments on the mountain, a complete set for how to love Him and love people.

Ten is a number that feels whole and finished, which is part of why our counting groups into tens. Numbers are not holy in themselves, but God uses order and counting all through His Word. Learning ten well is one small way of honoring the God of order.
Try counting to ten in a few different ways today: ten fingers, ten steps, ten seconds, ten thank yous. Ten is a size you can hold in your mind all at once, which is exactly why our whole number system leans on it so heavily. If you get stuck, use your fingers or counters. Good mathematicians use tools.
