Celebration: Showing What You Can Add and Subtract and Thanking God for It
What career does this lesson unlock?
Adelaide will match a real-world profession to what you just learned and walk you through a day on the job.
Core Content
Think about where you have seen this before. Celebrating growth is not bragging when you thank the One who gave the ability. Gratitude keeps success from spoiling a person. This is worth learning because noticing growth gives you courage for the next hard thing.
Watch for it today, and when you spot it, tell someone what you noticed and how you knew. Ask yourself where else the same idea might be hiding, then go and look.
Here comes a new math idea. Look how far you have come. At the start of this strand you were counting objects one at a time. Now you add and subtract within twenty, choose strategies, solve four kinds of stories, and find missing numbers.
That growth came from steady work and from the mind God gave you. Show someone what you can do today, and then say thank You to the God who made you able to learn.
Try telling someone one specific thing you found hard at the start of this strand and can now do easily. Naming your own growth out loud makes it real, and it gives you courage the next time something looks impossible. Try it once with someone beside you, then try it alone.
