Core Content

This is not just for paper. A generous person is not the one with the most, but the one who holds it loosely and shares gladly. This is worth learning because habits with small amounts now become habits with large amounts later.

Watch for it today, and when you spot it, tell someone what you noticed and how you knew. Ask yourself where else the same idea might be hiding, then go and look.

Today you get to learn something useful. Money has three good jobs: some to give, some to save, and some to spend. Giving comes first for people who love God, because everything we have came from Him anyway. Saving means waiting instead of grabbing.

Spending is fine when it is thoughtful. Try dividing ten pennies into three cups labeled give, save, and spend, and talk with your family about how to split them.

Try setting a small saving goal today, even a few pennies a week. The amount does not matter. The habit does, and habits started at six years old have a very long time to grow. Go slowly the first time and faster the fifth time.
